Endocannabinoids, What Are They?

What are Endocannabinoids? 🤔🤔🤔

Endocannabinoids (those produced naturally by our bodies) are signaling molecules. They are technically called neurotransmitters. Hormones are a more familiar type of neurotransmitter.

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring bioactive compounds that stimulate the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The Human Endocannabinoid System (ECS) has two components. First set are the endocannabinoid receptors found on the surface of cells throughout the body. The second set are the endocannabinoids themselves that interact with those receptors.

The ECS helps regulate:

Immune System

Nervous System

Digestive System

Mood

Other Critical Biological Processes
